It’s back to school and it’s winter, so it’s the perfect time to have a couple of “movement activities” up your teaching sleeve.
Winter “Snowman Dance” brain break and movement activity can help your students transition back into school or give them a fun way to channel all that energy.
WINTER “SNOWMAN DANCE” BRAIN BREAK MOVEMENT ACTIVITY
I like this song because it is short, get’s the kids moving and is fun. It’s going to be a useful movement activity when you have kids that can’t seem to settle down.
WAYS TO USE THIS MOVEMENT ACTIVITY IN YOUR CLASSROOM
Ultimately you may just need a transition between math and reading groups.
If you’re feeling brave, you could have it playing for the first five minutes of class!
You may need an indoor recess activity.
Try using it as a reward activity for the last 5 minutes of class.
Looking for something that may take a bit more time? Try using this as a small cooperative group activity.
Divide the class into smaller groups and let the kids practice the actions together. Then let them perform for each other.
