October! The time for falling leaves, colors changing and the winds of excited kindergarten students who need to move. Students are wiggly, so I’ve gathered up some fun and effective Halloween brain breaks for Kindergarten.
It’s fun to add in thematic brain breaks for your students. Something new always creates some enthusiasm and helps get everyone’s attention.
HALLOWEEN BRAIN BREAKS FOR KINDERGARTEN
Short brain breaks are super effective that don’t disrupt or take away from your other learning activities too.
Some of the brain breaks can be great starters for your literacy activities.
Other’s are going to give students a great workout.
Finally, some of these Halloween brain breaks are going to teach things like Count to 100 and ABC’s.
Are you ready to have some HALLOWEEN FUN!
HALLOWEEN EXERCISE BRAIN BREAKS
Halloween Would You Rather Exercise Workout
HALLOWEEN RUN EXERCISE GAME
This one makes a great brain break between activities or on a rain/snow day!
Halloween Freeze Dance
What’s fun about this video is that you can use just a minute or two of it and then have your students FREEZE. Next, tell them to stay “silently frozen” as you hand them their next task or they move like a Halloween character to their next station.
Having a Halloween party? This skeleton dance will be the hit. Use this video to also talk about different bones in the body. Connect your science activities using this fun brain break dance.
Halloween Move Like a Monster Brain Break
This activity is like copy cat. Have your students copy the actions and see if they can do them on the beat.
HALLOWEEN LEARNING ACTIVITIES
HALLOWEEN LEARN TO COUNT 1-100
Learning to count to 100 and MOVE and READ? Of course! This one is spooktacular for learning to count from 1-100. Or, 1-10, 1-20, etc.
HALLOWEEN ABC TRACING
Need a quiet activity after lunch? Have your students trace their letters using this interactive video.
HALLOWEEN MOVEMENT BREAKS
HALLOWEEN SCARF ACTIVITY
Teaching PE? Music? Library? This scarf activity can be tons of fun during Halloween!

Ask your students about all the words that rhyme with “cat”. Sing the song, do the actions and then have them write the words down.
STIRRING MY BREW
This video teaches the song and then some scarf moves. Scroll to the end to sing and move.
