In the elementary music classroom, October can be the scariest month of the year. But don’t worry! You’ll find all you need to know in this blog post with 3 (three) Halloween music class tricks.

HALLOWEEN MUSIC CLASS TRICKS

1- Knock, Knock…

2- Who’s there?

1- Ice Cream!

2-Ice cream who?

1-Ice cream, you scream, we all scream for Halloween!

Don’t let that scare you away!

TRICK #1 HALLOWEEN MUSIC PROGRAMS

The Halloween Mega Bundle of Music Lessons has the materials for a Halloween music program or an in-class singalong.

You’ll want to have plenty of materials for your K-6 lessons as part of your Halloween music class tricks.

Having a script for your classes for the last week can give all students a chance to participate in class.

All you need to do is to insert the songs into the script.

The script is in the Bonus file for the Halloween Lesson Bundle.

And it’s in the TPT STORE!

And it’s a FREE RESOURCE when you subscribe.

Kids love jokes! Using them is a great Halloween music class trick.

The script begins like this:

Thank you for coming to our Halloween program.

We know you’re going to have a howling good time this evening!

We’re going to need your help because it’s a full moon tonight and you never know who you’ll see flying by,

so please keep your screams to a whisper, we wouldn’t want to wake the zombies!

And of course, make sure all bats are in their caves and cats on the fences.

And we don’t want to stir up the witches, so please hold your applause until the end of the song.

Now if you’ll all lay down quietly in your coffins, the program can begin!

The rest of the script is jokes and ending section where students say thank you, and goodnight.

The Halloween script is now the “Bonus File” in the Halloween Mega Music Lesson Bundle.

 TRICK #2 USE VIDEO LESSONS

Why do I love using Videos in my classroom!

They are one of my all-time tricks in music class because they make my job easier!

1- KEEP STUDENTS ENGAGED

The students focus on the pictures and music. The pictures help students make connections.

Visual learners will get more out of your lessons.

You need a variety of strategies to reach all learners.

So, visuals are a great strategy you can use to help your special needs students.

Check out this blog post for some more Halloween Music Class Tricks and Treats.

2- ALLOW ME TO BE HANDS FREE- TOSS THAT CLICKER!

Teachers can manage behaviors quietly when they can walk around the room and talk to students privately.

That’s how you can reach your students and give them one on one help. You are free to move around the room.

Check out this blog post for more classroom management ideas in October.

Ultimately, having good management skills is a powerful Halloween music class trick.

3- ESPECIALLY HELPFUL TEACHING SONGS AND LYRICS

Projecting the lyrics to the songs helps students develop literacy skills too.

Share the videos with your classroom teachers. They will love having the video instead of fiddling around with files and documents.

Put them on your teacher youtube channel and share them with your students.

That’s a Halloween music class trick you can use all year long.

4- REACH MORE STUDENTS

Overall, using videos helps the teacher be more accessible to the students.

In the HALLOWEEN MEGA MUSIC LESSON  BUNDLE there are videos for:

“The Black Cat” and “Skin and Bones”

And, you’ll want to keep reading because I’m going to show you how to make a simple video in my next trick.

TRICK #3 HOW TO MAKE A VIDEO!
