Hibernation and migration is a fun science and reading activity for preschool and kindergarten. Here are some fun activities you can do with your students to help them learn about hibernation and migration.
Play a Hibernation Freeze Game with Ms. Sandra and sing with the animals as they migrate or hibernate during winter. Do you know? Come find out what the animals do!
“Do the Animals Hibernate or Migrate?”
In the wintertime some animals don’t like the snow.
Some hibernate and sleep, some migrate and go!
When you see the animal don’t scream or sneeze!
If they migrate, move, if they hibernate, freeze!
Butterfly, butterfly what do you do?
I flutter as I migrate. That’s what I do!
FLUTTER
Bear, bear what do you do?
I sleep when I hibernate. That’s what I do!
SLEEP
Caribou, Caribou what do you do?
I trot as I migrate. That’s what I do!

Easy to use hibernation-migration activities for Kindergarten and Preschool. This unique resource includes a movement song video plus materials to help students learn about hibernation and migration.
The materials include “do the animals hibernate or migrate?” worksheet, pocket chart vocabulary and animal cards, hibernate cut and paste worksheet, writing practice for animal names, stick puppets and story book in color and black/white versions.
