In addition, I was thinking how to set the stage for my buggy activities and I came up with the idea to use  a classical selection to set the scene.

Furthermore, since the bugs are all flying, hopping and swooping through flower gardens, I felt like this music would give us a good setting of a garden.

Here’s some YouTube selections of classical music that I’ll be using with my buggy movement activities for spring.

As well as being a “spring” song, students would enjoy the duet. In fact, you could ask them to move “high” and “low” during the respective sections of the song.

Tchaikovsky – Waltz of the Flowers LINK

And now it’s time for some buzzing, swooping, flying, swishing and . . .

Rimsky-Korsakov. The Flight of the Bumble Bee LINK

El Grillo The cricket by Josquin des Prez LINK

Perhaps it’s raining?  All the bugs scurry and hide beneath the leaves or to the hive.

Frédéric Chopin’s “Raindrop” Prelude, Op 28, No. 15 LINK

And more buzzing!

Chopin: Étude Op. 25, No. 2 // The Bees LINK

Ben Lepetit – Béla Bartók Mikrokosmos No. 142, From the Diary of a Fly   LINK

Likewise, although titled “Morning”, Edvard Grieg: “Peer Gynt – Morning Mood” LINK   would make a nice interlude between “busy” bug activities.

I’m thinking that the bugs have found their favorite flowers and now are resting before they begin collecting more honey, or pollen.

Little bugs, it’s now time to rest for tomorrow brings a new day to fly!

(Can you tell I love these kinds of activities?)
